What is included in the ski service?

Everything about ski service

A ski service includes the maintenance and repair of ski bases and edges to improve skiing characteristics and extend the lifespan of the skis. The process typically involves the following steps:

  • Repairing the base
  • Sharpening the edges
  • Waxing the skis.

Repairing the base:
Small scratches and damages are repaired with repair wax or by melting base material. Larger damages may be repaired by punching out and gluing in new base sections.

Sharpening the edges:
The side edges and base edge are sharpened to ensure optimal grip on different snow surfaces. Depending on the riding style and type of ski, the edges are sharpened at different angles.

Waxing:
The base is cleaned and treated with wax. The wax is applied and then polished to achieve optimal gliding capability.

Additional steps:
The binding is checked for functionality and adjusted if necessary.

If needed, further repairs such as fixing top sheet delaminations can be carried out.
